Gambling can cause harm
Gambling is not a way to earn income or solve financial pressure. You can lose the money you spend, and there is no guaranteed winning system. A resort visit does not need to include gambling.
Make a plan before your visit
- Set a spending limit that does not use money needed for bills or essentials.
- Set a time to leave and plan regular breaks.
- Do not borrow money to gamble or try to win back losses.
- Avoid gambling when distressed or affected by alcohol or drugs.
- Make room for activities away from gambling.
Ask the venue about its support
The Star publishes safer-gambling information and describes guest support, activity statements and exclusion options. Ask its staff about the tools currently available at The Star Gold Coast and how they apply to your circumstances.

If gambling is becoming difficult
If you are chasing losses, spending more than intended, hiding gambling or finding it hard to stop, consider taking a break and speaking with a counsellor. You do not need to wait for things to become worse before asking for support.
This page offers general visitor information. A trained gambling counsellor can discuss your individual situation.
